Greg Mappin, MDDr. Greg Mappin is vice president and chief medical officer of Self Regional Healthcare. He is also a general thoracic surgeon.
Dr. Mappin received both his undergraduate and medical degree from Duke University and completed his general surgery residency at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1985 through 1992 and received his fellowship training in general thoracic surgery at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi. In 1993, Dr. Mappin left Wright Patterson Air Force Base Regional Hospital and moved to Greenwood where he entered private practice in general and thoracic surgery. In 2005, he completed a MBA program at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
